This show is the inspirational and cautionary tale of Aubrey Ellen Shomo's childhood experiences with the American mental health system in the 1990's.
It covers how she became a mental patient and how she became diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, how the psychiatric system harmed her and made her worse, and her eventual recovery.
The bottom line message of the show is this: It is possible to get through mental illness even psychotic mental illness. Not only is it possible to just get by and function, but it's possible to excel, and it's possible to live your dreams.
This show is of value to patients, consumers, family members, professionals, and interested members of the general public.
A transcript is also included.
